Oakleaf Restaurant
Wednesday, February 20th
7:00 PM
One of the Triangle's top restaurants is hosting one of the Central Coast's best wineries, and we are thrilled to be along for the ride. Oakleaf in Carrboro is welcoming Beckmen Vineyards for an evening of exemplary food and wine pairing. Chef Cox has planned out a wonderful five course menu matched expertly to the wines.
Beckmen Vineyards was founded in 1994 in the Santa Ynez Valley of California, and focus on Rhone and Bordeaux varietals. Sourcing from two estate vineyards, their focus is on organic and bio-dynamic agriculture, varietal expression and a pronounced sense of terroir. Tending vines from dormancy through harvest since 1994, the Beckmen family has learned a great deal about their two distinct vineyard properties. Over time they have discovered, acre by acre, the unique soil and microclimate that best hosts each grape varietal, ensuring every block in the vineyard consistently produces the highest quality fruit possible. Jeff Beckmen will be on hand to discuss his family's vineyards and wine, and give personal insight into theses great bottles.
Chef Brendan Cox strives to deliver "immediate" cuisine; where quality ingredients are directly sourced from growers and fishermen and then delivered to you. Handmade pastas, seafood from the Carolinas and ingredients from the chef's garden populate the entire menu at Oakleaf. First opened in Pittsboro, Chef Cox shared the honors of Best Restaurant for 2013 in the News & Observer, and has continued to impress critics and casual diners both. He moved the operation to Carrboro in 2018, where he has continued bringing wonderful dishes of understated elegance to Triangle foodies.
