We are back from our brief vacation and ready to dive into Spring! For our first Spring Saturday tasting we are going to taste a selection of wines that have been some of the best values we've been able to offer over the last decade. The wines of the Moulin de Gassac label are what we would call classic 'table wines'. Other names of these types of wines could be 'Tuesday night wines' or 'burger wines' - basically wines that are easy and enjoyable to drink, and come without high price tags or pretentious self-importance. You can open and enjoy these wines whenever you like, whether all by itself as just a glass to enjoy, or paired to your favorite comfort foods.
Moulin de Gassac is a secondary label for one of the Languedoc's most renowned wineries Mas de Daumas Gassac. The Moulin de Gassac wines are sourced from around the overall Languedoc region, from a variety of sources. Created in the early 90s by the founder of Mas de Daumas Gassac, Aimé Guibert, he began a partnership with the vine growers in this area with a view to make quality wines that stayed affordable. The farmer's whose grapes he bought had to convert to organic agriculture, having an important impact in raising the level of sustainable farming in the appellation. The combination of high quality winemaking along with responsible agriculture have made thes wines enjoyable both to the senses and the soul.
