An Italian Thanksgiving

We've got one last Saturday tasting before Turkey Day, so of course we are going to focus on wines that will enhance your holiday meal.  There might not be any wine region that produces more food friendly wines than Italy.  From bud break to harvest to barrel, Italian winemakers seem to focus on how their wines will compliment and enliven a great meal.  They strive for wines of excellent acidity, flavors that are bold without being overwhelming, and with excellent savory tones that bring out all the different spices and flavors.  We've selected five Italian classics that we think would work with a spread of flavors, including a wonderful example of one of Italy's most renowned wines, Brunello di Montalcino.  Regardless of your cultural background, these wines will bring out the best of a Thanksgiving meal.  Mangiamo!
