Although it still feels pretty warm and humid out, according to the calendar the Fall Season is upon us! For our tasting this Saturday, we are going to embrace the change in seasons, and see if featuring some of our favorite selections for Autumn might nudge the weather into being more appropriate. It's worth a shot at least, right? We will be delving into wines that get a bit more weight and body than the lighter styles enjoyed during the hot summer months, so we'll move into wines that are more medium to full bodied. We'll aim to tone down the acidity that was so crisp and refreshing in July, looking for wines that will be more rich and lush for October. In the reds we'll move towards robust wines that are match up better with slow roasted foods versus the charcoal flavors of the patio grill, and work more with the flavors of the season. More apple and and honeyed spice in the the whites, and some earthier tones in the reds to go along with flavors of root vegtables and more spice and smoke. We also want at least one big, dark red that would be perfect for sipping your afternoon tailgate or evening fire pit. We think we've got a great selection to sample on Saturday that will match all of your Autumn needs!
