5:00 - 7:00
We've got a little treat for you Wednesday night before the tricks begin on Thursday! Please join us between 5:00 to 7:00 to sample some of the great wines from the portfolio of Vino del Sol. Vino del Sol is a fantastic importer of high quality wines, enough so that they are nominated by The Wine Enthusiast magazine for importer of the year for 2024! Since 2004 they have built their reputation as a leading importer of terroir-driven wines that over-deliver in value. Initially known as Argentine wine specialists, they also market exceptional wines and sakes from California, Chile, Japan, and New Zealand. Our tasting tonight will focusl mainly on their superb Argentine offereings, but we are also including a gem out of California, from a winery that Vino del Sol co-owns and operates. All of the wineries they represent are estate-grown, sustainably-farmed, and family owned. For this great tasting we will be joined by Gaston Cabrera, Vino del Sol's Southeastern Sales Manager, who will give us some great background information and insights into the wines being taste. Come join us for some delicious adult beverages, before your little imps and goblins take over all the fun!

A Study of Sauvignon Blanc
Saturday, November 2nd
1:00 - 3:00
1:00 - 3:00
This weekend we are going to focus all our attention on one grape variety - Sauvignon Blanc! While one of the widely planted grapes globally, many wine drinkers see Sauvignon Blanc only as a high acid, intensely aromatic white wine from New Zealand with flavous of gooseberries, grass and green bell pepper. In reality, it’s a grape that can appear in many different guises - from a light-bodied grassy Loire Valley wine to a complex, weighty California white. There is fair space to argue that Sauvignon Blanc is one of the wine grapes that best shows the differences of terroir, with many different regions having very different style wines coming from this one grape. For this Saturday we've selected four Sauvignon Blancs that are standard bearers for their region's style of Sauvignon Blanc. We will start out with two classics, one from New Zealand and one from the Sancerre appellation of France's Loire Valley, both of which display the styles that have made these two of the most renowned areas for the grape. We'll then move on to two regions that are up-and-comers, showing top notch potential for their own delicious Sauvignon Blancs in South Africa and Washington State. We hope you join us to see the similarites and differences that make Sauvignon Blancs some of the greatest wines out there!
