A Cape Town Christmas
Friday, December 21st
5:00 - 7:00
Spending time with good friends is a big part of the holiday season for many, so we are thrilled to be able to welcome our dear friend Zingo Munger of Cape Classics imports to the store tonight, Friday the 21st. Cape Classics is the importer behind many of our favorite South African wines, and for this tasting we are focusing on one of their top wineries - Glenelly Estate. Glenelly is a wonderful Stellenbosch property that is a meeting of two cultures, South African and French. It was purchased in 2003 by May de Lencquesaing, then owner of the famous Bordeaux house Chateau Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande. Her family's winemaking history dates back to the 18th Century, and she has developed a fantastic winery that will continue her family traditions thorugh her grandchildren now overseeing Glenelly. Their wines are a lovely mesh of vibrant South African fruit vinified in an elegant French style. We hope you can join us!

Great Gifts: Old World Wines
Saturday, December 22nd
4:30 - 7:00
Following on the heels of last week's tasting of some of the best domestic wine gifts we could offer, we will look this Saturday at some beautiful European wines that will delight the oenophile in your life! We've got our good friend Jennifer Salomé, from the Haw River Wine Man, who will guide us through some favorites. Most of the selections are from HRWM's incredible Italian offerings, but we couldn't resist throwing in one French wine, as it has been our best selling French white wine over multiple years. Come taste with us and find a delicious gift for your loved ones,
or a special treat for yourself.

Sunday Mini-Tasting:
Two Sides of Napa Valley Cabernet
Sunday, December 23rd
3:00 - 5:00
Our last tasting before Christmas will be another Sunday Mini, where we just taste two wine while you finish up all your holiday shopping. For this Sunday, we've invited Mike Bostick of Epiphany Wines to join us, and he chose to showcase two Cabernet Sauvignons that show the different sides of Napa Valley. One is a very traditional Napa Cab, with more structure, softer weight, and dusty tannins; the other is a more modern Cab, bursting with big, dark fruit, juicy, powerful and high gravity. It'll be fun to see how different wines from the same grape and region can be from each other!
