This week we welcome our good friend Laurence Vuelta of Aveniu Brands as well look at the fantastic California gem of his portfolio - Artesa Vineyards and Winery.  Owned by the Raventos family of Spanish Cava fame through the Codorniu winery, they developed Artesa over 25 years ago as a foray into the booming California wine scene of the late 1980s.  They found the perfect spot in Los Carneros, in southern Napa Valley, with a sea-facing hillside vineyard of rocky soils and a wonderful coastal climate.  They planted roots in Carneros, building on a 500 year winemaking legacy to create the next generation of estate grown, artisan wines.  The winery itself has stunning architecture, and is one of the first wineries you come to when driving up to Napa from the Bay Area, so we know many customers who have visited their beautiful tasting room.  Laurence is going to bring some of that tasting room to us this weekend, as three of the selections are wines normally only sold there at the winery, but Laurence pulled some special strings to get small allocations brought to our area for sale.  We'll supplement those special treats with two absolute classics of Carneros that are always available here in the Triangle, and are tried and true favorites of ours.
