Atypical California Tasting

There is something about finding that little hidden gem of a wine or winery that feels so special.  It's not just being the hipster cool kid on the block, but there is a fun aspect to discovering something you really enjoy that not everyone knows about.  It's not just finding smaller wineries, but also finding winemakers who relish working with different grapes.  There are so many fantastic wine grapes around the globe, and over the years there seems to have been more adventurous experimenting with many of these grapes in California than almost anywhere else.  Over the past ten years especially, it seems that a collective of growers and vintners have sought out the unique and  the unexpected, whether in planting their own  vineyards or discovering and reclaiming 'lost' plantings languishing in off the beaten track sites.  So we thought this weekend we would bring a little of that joy of discovery to you!  We are focusing this weekend on a number of small production wines from small, independent wineries that can fly under the radar a bit.  Hopefully you can join us and find some wines to be passionate about.
