French Wines of Authentique Vin

This Saturday's weekly tasting welcomes back a Hope Valley Wine & Beverage alum, and features one of our favorite import companies.  Long time regulars might remember Greg Pfaender, who worked here with us for much of 2013.  Since then Greg has been a sales representative for Empire Distributors, and recently became our liason with that company.   One of our favorite portfolios in the Empire sales book are the beautiful French wines (and ciders) of Authentique Vin, a company based out of Carrboro and owned by another good friend Thomas Meunier.  Greg just returned from nearly two weeks of touring France with Mr. Meunier, and meeting many of the winemakers and vineyards that are at the heart of the Authentique Vin offerings.  With his passion for the wines at a peak, and with a breadth of first hand experience with many of the wines, it only made sense to ask Greg to join us to point out some highlights of his trip.  On Saturday we'll taste a couple wines from Authentique Vin with which we've had long term success, along with a couple that were featured on Greg's tour.  Greg even convinced us to include a Pear Cider that he claims will change the way you view cider as a whole!  Please join us as we welcome back a friend and a company that have both been a
big part of our store over the years.
