Wines of Rioja

For our tasting this Saturday we are going to delve into several delicious wines from Spain's most heralded wine region - Rioja! Located in Northern Spain, Rioja is best known for berry scented, barrel aged red wines made from Tempranillo and Garnacha, but really great white and rosé wines are made in the region as well. Its vineyards trace the course of the Ebro River for roughly 60 miles between the towns of Haro and Alfaro, and the area is flanked on the north and west by the Cantabrian Mountains, providing shelter from the cold, wet influences of the Atlantic Ocean. We will be joined by Jen Salomé of the Haw River Wine Man, who will take us through three selections from Bodegas Ostatu, one of our favorite Rioja wineries, and one selection from the Luberri winery. All four wines are imported by Chapel Hill based De Maison Selections.

During the Weekly Tasting:
~ We will allow a maximum of 25 people inside the store, including staff. If we reach that maximum, other guests will need to wait outside until another group exits.

~ We encourage you to wear face masks when entering, checking out, and exiting.

~ While the free tasting is happening, the WineStation will not be available. We will turn it back on at the conclusion of the tasting.
