Weekly Tastings

Thursday and Saturday Tastings This Week!

Mas de Daumas Gassac Tasting

Picture

Thursday, December 7th
5:00 - 7:00

This Thursday we are excited to welcome back old friend Virgile Rousseau for a special tasting of "The Grand Cru of the Midi".  Arguably the most important winery of France's Languedoc region, Mas de Daumas Gassac produces a gorgeous line of wines.
The Guibert family found the property in the early 1970s, and it quickly caught the eye of several prominent geologists and enologists, who wanted to be involved with this unknown little winery based on the potential of the land alone.  Happily for the rest of us, the property has lived up to it's esteemed early reputation!  The Guiberts were crucial in showing that high quality wines could be made in an area better known for making vast quantities of plonk.  They were stewards of the land, and brought the concepts of organic and bio-dynamic agriculture to many farmers in the Langeudoc.  And most of all, they grew amazing fruit and crafted delicious, elegant wines.
Many of you may rememeber Virgile from A Southern Season in years past, but for more recent history he has had the honor to represent these incredible wines in the United States.  These are special wines, and we hope to see you can join us to taste!

Great Gift Bottles for Wine Lovers - Part I

Picture

Saturday, December 9th
4:30 - 7:00

Much of the holiday season for us is helping you to find great bottles to give to your wine loving family and friends.  This Saturday will be our first of several tastings with exactly that goal in mind.  For this tasting we've selected a great assortment of premium wines to consider.   These are wines that certainly go a bit above most of our 'everyday' wine price points, yet still are fantastic values and really delicious.  Add in our normal Saturday tasting discounts, and this is just flat out smart (and tasty) shopping.  We are pretty big oenophiles here, and we would all be thrilled to be gifted any of these bottles from a loved one! (Hint Hint).  Shake off the rigors of mall shopping with us Saturday, and taste the season with this awesome line up of wines!
