This Friday we're going to take a look at some of the fantastic Italian wines made or imported by Banfi Wines.  Banfi has been an incredible force in Tuscan wines, helping to introduce many American drinkers to areas like Montalcino and Bolgheri.  From their start in Little Italy in New York City in 1919, Banfi has grown into a major wine producer with vineyards and wineries in some of Italy's most prestigious regions.  They've extended their reach as well by acting as the importer for numerous other Italian properties from all over the country.  Our long time friend John Miketa is the representative for Banfi in North Carolina, and will be joining us to take a look at some of the delicious wines they make and sell.

French Values for Spring

Well, we finally have some weather that truly feels like Spring, and hopefully it will stay lovely through the weekend.  We put some thought into some wines that would pair well with the change in weather, and decided upon a collection of French wines that we thought apropos.  Some are wines we've worked with for quite some time, some are brand new selections for the store, but all have the fresh fruit, lively acidity and bright nature that make us want a patio and some sunshine, a peaceful afternoon and some good friends.  As an even better touch, they're all nicely affordable, as kind to the wallet as they are to the senses.  Josh Hyden of Mims Distributing will be joining us to pour and educate, and we hope you can join as well!
