Familiar Grapes from Unexpected Places

This weekend we've got a great theme that we haven't delved into in some time. For this Saturday, we will take a look at wines made of grapes that many of you might be familiar with, but grown and made in regions not traditionally associated with that grape. For some of these regions, these may be emerging grapes that we can expect to see more examples of down the road. For other bottles, this may just be a passion project for a winemaker who found just the right parcel of land for a non-traditional grape. This is a great tasting that will tap into the wonderful sense of experimentation and discovery that is shared by many winemakers around the world. So while you might be very well versed on Austrian Grüner Veltliner, have you ever had one from New Zealand? Most of us know that Tempranillo is the main red wine grape from Spain, but did you know it is showing incredible potential out of Argentina?
