Rosé wines have exploded in popularity over the past decade, to the point now that you can find versions made of nearly any red wine grape you can think of, and from every wine growing region out there. Most wine lovers recognize, however, that our modern ideas of dry pink wines have their roots in France. From the iconic rosé wines from Provence to the immaculate sparkling rosé of Champagne, the French were far ahead of the curve on these delectable wines. So this weekend, as we revisit a pink wine theme once again, we are going to focus purely on some incredible examples out of France. It also seemed perfect for us to match up for this tasting with one of our absolute favorite importers in Authentique Vin. Tyler Morgan from Authentique Vin will join us to pour four great examples. We'll have a lovely Frizant sparkling wine from the Languedoc, a light and lively example from the Loire Valley, a favorite from the Rhone Valley, and great special occasion rosé from the renowned Bandol appellation in Provence. While we've all been enjoying the cooler weather over the last few days, any long time North Carolinian knows that we are likely not done with the heat yet, so still plenty of time to enjoy your favorite warm weather wines!
