Thanksgiving Picks from Authentique Vin

For most of the month of November, our Saturday tastings are going to revolve around finding you the perfect wines for your Thanksgiving meal. To get us started, we are going to look at fantastic pairings from our favorite French import company, Authentique Vin. We asked our good friend and Authentique Vin rep Greg Pfaender to choose four wines that he thinks will do wonders on your holiday table. These are versatile wines that match up to a good variety of flavors, as you always need that flexibility with the plethora of tastes you find with most Turkey Day spreads. We'll start with one of our current favorite whites, a Pinot Gris that is grown in Beaujolais, a unique grape for that appellation, to the point that they have to label it as general 'Vin de France, as Pinot Gris is not officially recognized. Next, for those who are into the minimal intervention style of wines we'll taste a fantastic Orange Wine out of the Alsace, before moving on to a classic Rhône Valley blend from the Rasteau appellation. Finally, we'll finish with a Vin Doux Naturel, a lovely style of dessert wine that is sweet without being cloying, and has great accents of walnut and baking spice. Thanksgiving will be here in just a blink of the eye, so let's start getting ready!
