Sparkling Wines

Perelada Brut Reserva Cava
Penedes, Spain, NV
An excellent Cava, this wine has a very pale straw yellow color with elegant, fine bubbles. On the nose, typical varietal aromas of citrus and almond flower are prominent. A pleasant, fresh palate of apricot, apple, lemon and pear with a mild, creamy texture, leads to a soft, toasty finish. This is a traditional blend of Cava grapes, with 40% Xarel-lo, 30% Macabeau, and 30% Parellada. Wine has been made at the Castillo Perelada since the Middle Ages, as shown in several documents and parchments from the period to be found in their library.
Normally $14.99
Special Case Price $11.99
Los Dos Brut Rosé Cava
Penedés, Spain, NV
Spanish Cava is a wonderful way to have bubbles in a Champagne style but an everyday price point. The Los Dos Brut Rosé is an excellent example, made of grapes from family vineyards in the renowned D.O. Penedés. A blend of Trepat, Monastrell and Garnacha, it is a rose pink in color. Red florals and ripe red berry aromas lead to cherry, strawberry, and raspberry flavors on the palate. Fresh with medium structure, it has a good balance between the acidity and the fruit concentration.

White Wines

Mànnara Pinot Grigio
Sicily, Italy, 2023
This is a smooth, dry white from Western Sicily, where the long hours of hot sun lend a little extra body to a variety more familiar from the Veneto region further north. In spite of the southern heat, the alcohol by volume is kept to a modest 11.5%, making this a great choice for parties and other get-togethers where quantity is required as well as quality, and its peachy, citrusy character, with a snappy, crisp finish, will please a discerning crowd. This wine pairs great with a lot of traditional Sicilian foods, like pasta in Sicilian Pesto made with almonds, tomatoes, basil, garlic and Pecorino cheese, or Baked Sardines stuffed with pine nuts, raisins and breadcrumbs.
Normally $11.99
Special Case Price $9.99
Fernlands Sauvignon Blanc
Marlborough, New Zealand, 2023
Nothing austere or restrained about this exuberant and fruit-filled New Zealand Sauvingon Blanc! You'll find a bounty of grapefruit, passion fruit and lime citrus aromas and flavors here with touches of lime zest and citrus pith for balance. Mouth-filling and ripe, the wine finishes crisp and fresh with grapefruit, lime and ripe tropical fruit flavors lingering nicely. A wonderful example of how a wine can be both fruity and dry at the same time. Great with a salad of Spring Mix with Oranges and Fennel, or Pan Seared Sea Bass with Leeks, Shitake Mushrooms and Ginger.

Vignoble Duffour Blanc
Côtes de Gascogne, France, 2023
This blend of Colombard, Gros Manseng, and Ugni Blanc from the Gascogne region has become a customer favorite, and understandably so. On the nose and palate, there are immediate fresh notes of Key lime pie, lemon rind, citrus grove, crushed white fruit, stone fruit and chalky minerals. Cotes de Gascogne is the IGP title for wines that are produced in an area centered on the Gers administrative department of South-West France. The countryside here is verdant, and the low rolling terrain is interspersed with small, picturesque villages. All in all, this is well suited to viticulture, as the soils and climate work together across the area to create an optimal environment for vineyards.

Santa Julia Viognier
Mendoza, Argentina, 2023
Bodega Santa Julia was created in honor of Julia Zuccardi, part of the third generation of leaders from the Zuccardi Family. The Santa Julia winery represents the family’s commitment to producing the highest quality wines through sustainable practices that protect the environment and uplift the local community. Their Viognier is wonderful introduction to the grape as it is characteristically classic, but doesn’t go over the top. It has notes of tropical fruits combined with flowers and ripe orchard fruits, along with accents of roses, peaches, green apples and melon. Rounded and balanced, it has a lovely full weight that lasts through the plump finish. This is a great holiday wine as it will work just as well with ham as it will with turkey, and is a natural with yams, squash, turnips and carrots.

Giovine 'Felicitá' Cortese
Piedmont, Italy, 2022
Piedmont may be known for such hearty reds as Barolo and Barbaresco; however, among this sea of big Piedmontese reds is a charming white wine grape named Cortese. Best known from around the village of Gavi, where it makes the namesake Gavi di Gavi, it leads to a white wine that is both soft and crisp. With a pleasant stony backbone, this wine features notes of green apple, pear and a lovely, enlivening finish of white flower and white pepper. Enjoy with fish, cheese, salads and light pasta dishes with a dash of olive oil. This bright Italian white is a terrific "go to" white throughout the entire year. This will work magic with your favorite style bowl of mussels, roasted oysters, mild cheese, or braised chicken thighs with lemon, garlic and olives.

Noah River Chardonnay
California, 2021
The Noah River is a great value option for those wanting the opulent, lush style so well embodied by wineries like Rombauer and Far Niente. It pours rich golden straw in color and has an intense noseful of ripe pear, lychee, hazelnut, citrus zest, and toasty oak aromas. The expressive, full-bodied palate has flavors of pear, tropical fruits, and citrus, finishing long with lingering notes of delicious apple and buttery richness, but with bright acidity to keep it from cloying or too heavy.

Dopff & Irion 'Crustaces'
Alsace, France, 2022
This is an excellent Alsatian white wine blend of 80% Sylvaner and 20% Pinot Blanc. The Dopff & Irion families have origins which can be traced to winemaking as of the 16th century, and have worked for generations the vineyards at Chateau de Riquewihr, dubbed ‘the pearl of Alsace’. This wine has a brilliant golden yellow color, with mineral driven aromas of orchard fruit like green apple, along with floral tones of elderberry. It is lively across the palate, with fresh fruit accents of white peach, citrus, pickled ginger and wet stone. As the name suggests it is fantastic with shellfish, but also a natural with white fish or vegetable dishes.

Their blanc is made of 100% Roussanne, one of the best white grapes of the Rhone Valley. It sports a medium gold hue to go along with notes of spiced melon, grilled pineapple and honeyed toast. Pike Road Rosé of Pinot Noir
Willamette Valley, Oregon, 2023
This great rosé from Oregon is one of our favorites for the Fall. It is made by the saignée method, where the winemakers bleed off some of the juice early in the maceration process while they are making their standard Pinot Noir. This helps to give them more intensity of color and flavor on their regular Pinot Noir, and provides us with lighter colored juice for an intense rosé. They also belnd in 2-3% of standard Pinot Noir bringing out a lovely cranberry red color and added texture that are a big reason this is the prefect Autumn rosé. It has has a beautiful bouquet and palate of sweet strawberries, tropical guava, and pomegranate with great texture and a clean mineral finish with bright acidity. This is a rosé with enough power to stand up to braised and slow roaste foods, hearty chili, and especially the Thanksgiving table!

La Plage Rosé du Var
Vin de Pays du Var, France, 2024
La Plage is The Beach, and this classic Provence Rosé will have you dreaming of dipping your toes into the Mediterranean. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache, Carignan and Merlot, it is utterly delicious and completely Provençal. Established in Vidauban in 1922, the Mâitres Vignerons de la Vidaubanaise today control 600 hectares of vines in the heart of the Côtes de Provence. Located in the limestone foothills of the historic Maures massif in the southern Var, between the Mediterranean Sea and the Alps, the terroir has the perfect climate for producing terrific rosé. The nose has inviting aromas of ripe cherries and raspberries, and a refreshing minerality like a sea breeze. On the palate, it has loads of fresh watermelon and cherry accents, with just a touch of briny salinity on the finish. This wine is just waiting for a Nicoise salad or traditional Bouillabaisse to match with.

Red Wines

Bulletin Place Shiraz
South Eastern Australia, 2022
We’ve recently discovered the fantastic value that is Bulletin Place Shiraz and it quickly became our ‘go-to’, affordable Australian Shiraz. South Eastern Australia, rather than being classified as a wine region in the traditional sense, is officially classified as a ‘viticultural super zone.’ It measures some 1,250 miles and reaches from the Pacific coast in Queensland to the Indian Ocean. The sheer scale of this zone and the diversity of its climates, zones, and latitudes make it a virtual spice market for winemakers to choose from when selecting their vineyards and their grapes. This Shiraz has a deep red color with purple hues, and aromas of mixed berries and spice standing out alongside hints of mint and mocha. The palate is rich and lush, with dark cherries, ripe plum, boysenberry, and a hint of baking spice and chocolate. Juicy acidity is balanced with refined tannin to provide length and a rewarding finish.

Domaine St. George Cabernet Sauvignon
California, 2021
One wine that we seem to always be on the hunt for is the great, everyday California Cab, one that balances affordability and quality, yet still tasting truly of Cabernet Sauvignon and not just like ‘red wine’. Well, we found a definite winner here with the Domaine St. George! Based primarily on fruit from Sonoma County, it overdelivers with concentration and finesse. Ripe black cherry and cedar aromas combine on the nose, with a touch of vanilla oak in the background. It is richly flavored with black currant and black cherry accents, with mild tones of smoke and mint. It is velvety and soft yet intense on the palate, with lingering berry flavors.

Bodegas Castaño Monastrell
Yecla, Spain, 2020
Murcia, the land that stretches from the northeastern border of Andalusia to the southwestern edge of Valencia, is blessed with a warm, dry, Mediterranean climate, an ideal place to grow Monastrell (also known as Mourvedre). Yecla is one of the three D.O.s in Murcia that make a range of wines based on Monastrell, from rosé to hearty reds through to fortified dessert wines. Bodegas Castaño makes all three types, but their calling card is this vibrant and juicy version of pure Monastrell. This wine offers black cherry and red plum flavors, balanced by leafy and loamy earth notes. Light tannins and orange peel acidity focus the supple texture, giving way to a refreshingly bitter finish. This wine would be fantastic with sausage, from lamb merguez to chorizo to andouille, or veal chops with caramelized onions and saffron tomatoes, or with aged Manchego or smoked cheddar.

G.D. Vajra Langhe Rosso
Langhe, Piedmont, Italy, 2023
A veritable pantheon of classic Piedmonte grapes comprise this blend. Nebbiolo, Barbera, and Dolcetto play the staring role, but are not to be outshined by the presence of some more esoteric varietals like Freisa and Albarossa, and even a little Pinot Noir. All the grapes are separately vinified and blended after maturing, and the wine ends up a wonderfully fresh, but firm and serious Piedmonte red that is a fantastic value. Red fruits like tart cherry and red raspberry are accompanied by incense, red flowers, and a distinct rustic earthy quality. Tannins are well incorporated on the palate along with fresh acidity and a heartiness that belies its color. Fantastic with any red sauce pastas, this would also be great with a sausage and mushroom risotto, or stuffed eggplant.

Francois Chidaine Touraine Rouge
Touraine Loire Valley, France, 2021
Francois Chidaine practices biodynamics in his vineyards and takes the health of his soil and the environment to the next level by rotating cover crops and avoiding plowing. Produced from equal amounts of Côt (the local name for Malbec), Cabernet Franc & Pinot d’Aunis. Known primarily for making some of the greatest white wines in the Loire region, Chidaine has been farming these vineyards for several years. Good dark concentration of fruit where neither varietal dominates, but rather compliments the others. The faintly mineral nose shows notes of pepper melded with the red fruit and leads into a wine with medium tannins, good concentration and length. Not a heavy wine, it has plenty of character, and bright acidity, which makes it a classic food wine to go with difficult pairings.

Evolution Pinot Noir
Willamette Valley, Oregon, 2022
Fermented and aged in stainless steel, this wine exhibits aromas and flavors of bright red and jammy fruit tones of raspberry, rhubarb, and baking spice. The mouthfeel is round yet lively, with some good tannins to soften the acidity in the long finish. Wonderful with a wood-fire pizza with lots of mushrooms, or turkey or ham at any holiday feast. Evolution is a second label for esteemed Oregon winery Sokol Blosser.

Fabien Trosset 'Terre d'Origine' Arbin Mondeuse
Vin de Savoie Arbin Mondeuse AOP, France, 2021
Mondeuse is an ancient red wine grape variety native to eastern France, and is a close relative of the Syrah grape. A classic Mondeuse wine is aromatic with a deep purple color, with plenty of acidity and tannins. Among the finest, most expressive examples are those from the Savoie village of Arbin, just like this fine example from Trosset. The Trosset estate is in Arbin at the Alpine foothills, facing the Mont Blanc and Chartreuse chain of mountains. Here the terroir, made of rockslides from the old glacier, give a vibrant minerality to the wines. Fabien's style of winemaking is hands off and minimal intervention, with hand-harvested grapes, native yeasts, and no additives of any kind. The wine is made exclusively in stainless steel to preserve a fruit-forward, aromatic style. The result is a wine loaded with fresh cranberry and dark cherry, backed by subtle black pepper notes. The medium-bodied palate has a mouthwatering acidity that balances the concentrated core of dark fruits. It finishes with structured tannins that are well integrated with an elegant chalky minerality.

Armilla Rosso di Montalcino
Tuscany, Italy, 2021
“The 2021 Armilla Rosso di Montalcino is a fruit-forward yet fresh and racy Rosso, as earthy red berry notes with smoky minerals and hints of leather strap lift up from the glass. It’s juicy on the palate, staining the senses with ripe red fruits, yet nervous acidity and spice add further complexity. The finish leans more toward the savory side, sizzling away on the senses with pretty inner florals that linger on. This is a fun and energetic Rosso to enjoy sooner rather than later.”

Seghesio Old Vine Zinfandel
Sonoma County, California, 2022
It's often said that Zinfandel is the only truly American grape, and in many ways, the Seghesio family story is a true reflection of the American dream. The family of immigrants planted vines in Sonoma back in 1895, and they have persevered through prohibition, earthquakes, fires and droughts. Sustainability has become a central tenet of their farming and viticultural practices with the continued health of their vineyards and the next five generations always in mind.
"Like a briar patch in a glass, this Zin offers spirited raspberry and cherry flavors that take on underbrush, dried sage and white pepper flavors before finishing with zesty tannins"
