Saturday, May 19th
4:30 - 7:00
Starting in 1988, Christian Wölffer had the audacious dream of turning 55 acres in the heart of the Hamptons on eastern Long Island into pristine vineyards. 30 years later his vision is a reality, and Wölffer Estates produces some of Long Islands best wines. Winemaker Roman Roth has a wonderfully individual style on his wines, establishing the estate's distinctive character with European elegance combined with the typicity of Long Island terroir. He is a believer not only of Wölffer Estate, but of Long Island wine as a whole, consulting for several other Long Island wineries and serving as president of the Long Island Wine Council. While their wines are delicious, Wölffer may be best known around Durham for their delightful ciders. You will find both their dry cider and dry rosé cider around many of the bars downtown, including a number that serve this delectable beverage on tap! We'll taste through both ciders on Saturday, along with a selection of our
favorite Wölffer wines for the summer time heat.
